The department of Public Service Management, Administration, ICT and Communications, under the stewardship of the CECM Hon. Abdillahi Hanti, are the winners of the end of year Performance Contracting Evaluation, for the Financial Year 2022/2023 with a score of 3.1580, followed closely by the County Public Service Board.
The department of Water, Environment, Wildlife and Natural Resources came in third, and also scooped the award for best improved department, which they also shared with the department of Roads, Public Works, Housing and urbanization.
Hon. Hanti attributed his Department’s success this year to proper planning, streamlined operations and proper utilisation of resources, as they strived to serve the people of Tana.
“It was not easy. But we had made up our minds that the past financial year, we must do well. And we did it. We plan to continue with the same spirit this financial year 2023/2024.” Mr. Hanti said.
H.E the Deputy Governor, Mwalimu Mahadh Ali Loka, challenged all the other departments to put more effort in service delivery, since the people Tana expect nothing less, other than quality services, and proper utilization of government funds.
“Latest polls have placed Tana at position 22 out of 47. Those are 25 steps ahead compared to the last polls that had placed us at number 47 of 47. It’s a huge improvement for us. And all this has been made possible since we embraced thus whole idea of performance contracts for our senior staff.” Said Hon. Loka.
The top performers were awarded trophies and cash prizes, in a ceremony that was held today Monday 18th September 2023.
